How to Copy Many-to-One Data from one Asset to Another
Copy many-to-one data hierarchies — features, spansets, and similar tables — from one structure to another without re-entering them by hand.
Applies to: all asset types
Permission: Admin Settings access
Where to find it: Admin Settings › Assets›Actions › Copy Hierarchy Data
Open the Assets tabAdmin Settings → Assets
Go to Admin Settings and click the Assets tab. This lists every asset type configured in your system.
Open the Actions menu
Click the Actions dropdown above the asset list. A menu opens with several options, including Copy Hierarchy Data.
Select "Copy Hierarchy Data"
Click Copy Hierarchy Data. This opens the Copy Hierarchy Data dialog, where the rest of the setup happens.
Choose the asset type
Use the Asset Type dropdown to pick the type you're working with — for example, NBI Bridges Local. This determines which structures and hierarchies are available in the steps below.
Select the source structure — "Copy From"
Use the Copy From dropdown to choose the structure number you want to copy hierarchy data from. Type into the search field to jump to a specific structure number.
Only active structures appear here — archived and deleted structures are filtered out of both dropdowns.
Select the destination structure — "Copy To"
Use the Copy To dropdown to choose the structure number you want to copy hierarchy data to.
Copy From and Copy To must be different structures. Selecting the same structure number for both raises an error.
Choose which hierarchies to copy
Under Copy Data Hierarchies on the left side of the dialog, check one or more of the available hierarchies — for example, Features (Highway), Features (Railroad), or Spansets.
Every hierarchy is unchecked by default — nothing copies until you select it.
