How to Retrieve and Share Backup Files from Your iPad

Updated by AssetIntel

Overview

If an inspection is no longer in your working set but the data was not fully synced to the server, your backup files may still be saved locally on your iPad. Follow the steps below to locate and share those files with the support team so we can sync the inspection on our end.

Part 1 — Locate the backup files on your iPad

  1. Open the Files app on your iPad.

  2. Navigate to: On My iPad → inspectX → InspectionData → [Structure #]

  3. Inside that folder, look for a subfolder named with your inspection event number. This folder contains all backup files for the inspection, including photos and sketches.

⚠️ Important: Do not edit, rename, move, or delete any files in this folder. These files are needed to sync your inspection and any changes could prevent recovery.

Part 2 — Share the backup files with support

Once you have located the backup folder, share it with the support team using the OneDrive upload link they provide.

  1. Open the OneDrive link provided by your support agent.

  2. Tap Create or Upload (top left) and select Folder Upload.

  3. Navigate to the inspection backup folder identified in Part 1 and select it.

  4. Upload the entire folder. If the inspection contains many photos, this may take a few minutes.

  5. Once the upload is complete, reply to your support thread to let the team know — they will then sync the inspection on their end and confirm when it is done.
